WindowRegionAdapter Windows that are not owned by the Shell

I'm trying to use the WindowRegionAdapter to show detail windows and it works fine except for one small problem.

The windows have their owner set to the Shell which means that they always appear on top on the Shell window. I'd like the windows to work the same as Outlook where the shell can cover the sub windows.

Does anyone know how to change the WindowRegionAdapter to handle this?

Comment out line 142 (window.Owner = owner;)

Although Im not sure what the side effects of doing this will be.
